A small independent newsroom explaining digital tools to everyday readers — in plain, non-promotional language.
Yornbix is a small independent publication covering ad blockers, privacy extensions and other tools that Chrome users encounter day to day. The editorial team works for readers, not for the vendors it covers.
We started Yornbix because most guides to ad blockers and privacy tools fall into one of two extremes: dense technical articles aimed at engineers, or upbeat affiliate pages aimed at clicks. Neither serves the ordinary reader who simply wants to know whether a tool is worth installing in the first place.
Our coverage tries to fill that middle ground. Articles describe how the tools work, what they realistically improve and where their limits sit. Some pages contain affiliate links; when that happens, it is disclosed visibly and the editorial conclusions are not influenced by the commercial relationship behind them.
The team is deliberately small. A short list of authors and editors keeps the publication's tone consistent and avoids inflating credentials we cannot back up. We welcome corrections from readers gratefully and act on them quickly when they reach the editorial team.
Three steps structure every comparison we publish. They make the process predictable and reduce the risk of slipping into advocacy for a single product or organisation.
We read official documentation, independent reports and user observations. Claims without public support are removed from the draft before publication.
Rather than evaluating a single product, we line up features, prices and audiences side by side. Strengths and limitations appear together in each entry.
Affiliate use is disclosed on every page where it applies. Our content is produced through independent research and comparison of publicly available information.
A short list — short because it is easier to honour.
